Course Overview
This course will review the foundation of personal ethics, a discussion centered on theories, a review of governing codes of conduct, and a practical application period using cases. The course will satisfy the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy ethics requirement.

This course is designed to teach CPAs the laws and rules pertaining to the Texas franchise tax and Texas sales and use tax.
The course materials will cover statutes and amendments effective through the 2010 legislative session, recently enacted Comptroller administrative rules, and recently promulgated Comptroller forms. Upon completing the course, participants will have an advanced understanding of how Texas' tax laws apply in a variety of situations, and will also have sufficient working knowledge to handle substantive tax issues that arise during Comptroller franchise tax and sales and use tax audits. This course will be taught by David Sewell, partner in the law firm of Stahl, Bernal & Davies, LLP.

This course will provide accountants and lawyers with information about recent tax changes that affect farm and ranch tax reporting and tax planning.
For tax professionals that maintain clients with fiduciary tax issue needs.
The general aim of the workshop is to provide participants with an understanding of the basic similarities and differences between individual and fiduciary taxation and the mechanics of how to prepare a basic Form 1041. Special emphasis will be given on the interrelationship between trust and tax law for the proper completion of a fiduciary tax return.
Prerequisite
This workshop will emphasize tax planning and will address tax reporting. It is designed for the practitioner who has substantial experience or training in tax work with individuals, does some business work, and feels a need to develop more skills in business related work.
The two-day workshop will consist of lectures, examples, problems and some discussion. The workshop materials are specially developed for this workshop series by the lead instructor, Marvin Sartin, an experienced CPA who writes extensively, teaches, and has a tax practice.
Substantial experience or training in tax work with individuals preferred.
This course is designed to provide a balance of "how to do it" with "what is required." All tax professionals will benefit from the information provided in this workshop. It is especially designed for practitioners who have two or more years of experience and work primarily with individual returns and small businesses organized as proprietorships.
